   DEGREE PROGRAMMES > PG Certificate and PG Diploma Courses

Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma Courses are available to those students who do not wish to pursue an MA degree program. A Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma can be taken on either a full time or part time basis and last between one to four semesters depending on the route taken.

* Students are required to pay their tuition fees at registration and should pay the first instalment within 7 days of the start of the first semester. Fees are charged on an annual basis. The fees listed are for 2007/2008 entry.

Entry Requirements

Applicants wishing to register for the PgCert or PGDip must normally have at least a second-class honours degree from a recognised University or its equivalent in a relevant subject area.
Those who are over 25 years of age and do not satisfy this requirement, may be considered on the basis of maturity and experience in the relevant subject area.

Students are expected to be competent in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or above is normally required) to study academic material, complete their thesis and undertake oral examination.

The Markfield Institute will respond to completed applications within two weeks, and may also seek additional information from referees and/or call the candidates for interview. The Institute regrets that it is unable to reimburse any travel costs incurred.

Applications will be considered on an individual basis. If accepted, these applicants will be registered for the PGCert and if they successfully complete this course, they will be transferred to the MA programme.

Applications for September 2007 intake are now being accepted so if you want to enrol then please get your applications to us as soon as possible, preferably before 31st August. Applying for grants from appropriate bodies and visas to come to the United Kingdom will require earlier applications.

You can apply for the February 2008 intake from November 2007 onwards.
