'Markfield
Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) is committed to
promoting excellence in teaching, research and training. It
offers post-graduate students the advantage of a friendly

multi-dimensional issues by exercising critical judgment and
self-discipline.
MIHE also
aims at developing the local community through training,
vocational education and pioneering new courses. The
Institute has a positive approach to dialogue between faiths
and cultures and has been recognised for its interfaith
endeavours. At MIHE, students have a unique opportunity
within the British higher education system to learn about
the challenges faced by the Muslim community in particular

Mission Statement

The Markfield Institute of Higher Education is committed to:
- promoting informed understanding of Islam, Muslim world and Muslim communities through teaching, research and publications;
- exercising critical judgement and self-discipline in acquiring and transmitting knowledge through guided learning in an analytical research environment;
- equipping students with the necessary skills, to develop in them critical and analytical abilities with ethical values;
- preparing students to comprehend and respond to the contemporary challenges posed by modern, multi-cultural and pluralist societies and within and outside the Muslim communities;
- contributing to the development of local community through training and vocational education, seminars and lectures;
- building bridges between faiths, cultures and civilisations;
- using its physical and human resources in the most efficient manner to fulfil these with a view to making the Institute a centre of excellence.
