Order 2006 Prospectus

   COURSES > Admission Procedure

It is recommended that applications be made as early as possible, preferably before 31st August. Applying for grants from appropriate bodies and visas to come to the United Kingdom will require earlier applications. Students wishing to pursue studies for the MPhil/PhD degrees should include a 1000 word written proposal, in English, on the research topic. This statement should include the research methodology to be employed and justification for the research which must make an original contribution to knowledge in the relevant field. Guidelines for preparing the research proposal are available from the Registrar. Applicants are requested to carefully check the entry requirements before submitting their application. All applications for MPhil and PhD have to be approved by Loughborough University.

The Markfield Institute will respond to completed applications within six weeks, and at a convenient time applicants may be called for an interview. The Institute regrets that it is unable to reimburse any travel costs incurred.
